Super DIRTcar Series returns to Rolling Wheels for Labor Day Classic Stars & Stripes 100

Big Blocks, Big Night: 800-plus horsepower Big-Block Modifieds of the Super DIRTcar Series take on "The Fast Track"

ELBRIDGE, N. Y. - The Super DIRTcar Big-Block Modified Series circles back to Central New York for its second event of the season at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park. The stakes are higher for the Sunday, Sept. 1, Labor Day Classic Stars & Stripes 100, awarding Big-Block Modified drivers based on a 150-point schedule.

After winning at Michigan's I-96 Speedway, Brett Hearn currently leads in series point standings going into "Mr. DIRT Track U.S.A." at Lebanon Valley Speedway Thursday, August 15. However, three-time defending series champion Matt Sheppard lags by just three points, and his strength at Elbridge's famed 5/8-mile oval is evidenced by his two wins at Rolling Wheels last season.

The Labor Day Classic, which also features a full show for DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds and DIRTcar Stock Cars, is the last race of the season at Rolling Wheels before the World of Outlaws Late Model Series andWorld of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series take over for two NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week Specials in October.

"This late-summer classic is the last chance for fans to experience Central New York's premier motorsports venue before NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week," said Jeff Hachman, Rolling Wheels Raceway Park General Manager. "WIth the Big-Block Modifieds returning to 'The Fast Track,' we're looking again forward to bringing fans unparalleled racing and entertainment."

Drivers of the extra-powerful Big-Block Modifieds make the most of the long straightaways and wide turns at "The Fast Track," reaching high speeds and creating exciting racing action for fans and drivers alike.Additionally, food and fun in the midway behind the grandstands make for a special night at the Wheels. The track proudly serves a wide array of concessions, including its famous fried dough and buttered salt potatoes, and additional food vendors offer barbecue, snacks, and some of the best ice cream around. Between races, the little ones can enjoy a range of entertainment, from driver appearances to bounce houses.
