Super DIRT Series 101
The Advance Auto Parts Modified Super DIRT Series is the premier series for big-block Modifieds.

Among this impressive collection of racers are stars such as 2006 Mr. DIRT Alan Johnson, 2006 Eckerd 200 champion Danny Johnson, Tim Fuller, Brett Hearn, Gary Tomkins and Billy Decker as well as rising phenom Matt Sheppard. With the 32nd Mr. DIRT Championship at stake, the 2007 edition of the Advance Auto Parts Modified Super DIRT Series will be contested throughout New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland, along with the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec. Twenty-seven scheduled points-earning tour events will count directly towards the coveted title, with the champion crowned after eight months of ground-pounding short-track activity.

Each Advance Auto Parts Modified Super DIRT Series event follows a traditional short-track championship program including pre-race hot lap sessions, qualifying through time trials, heat races and a last-chance consolation round, all leading up to the feature race finale of at least 100 laps in distance. Each car is given a minimum of two laps around the track and the fastest of these is used to handicap them to set heat race line-ups. The number of cars entered that night determines the number of preliminary races. A special Dash that includes the fastest cars in time trials is held prior to the feature, along with the customary re-draw among those same top time trailers and heat race qualifiers. Only driver points are awarded in Advance Auto Parts SDS feature events, with the winner receiving 100 points and those drivers finishing in 24th-place and beyond earning 40 points. Every driver attempting to qualify for the feature is credited with 10 points.
